High-level goal

Alex Skidanov

• Current focus on upgradability (with Eugene Kapun)
  • Solution: proxy (Ethereum side) might be not good
  • The additional method in connector contract for transferring the tokens can be viable
• Alex Kouprin is working on the testing infrastructure (Ganache & relayers); works with Maria on integration with NayDuck

Eugene Kapun

• Working on upgradability (up to 2 days building + 1 day testing)
• Will focus on Ethereum implementation of upgradability
• NEAR-side upgradability: need to have full access keys for NEP-21 contracts <- This is enough for now
  • Marcelo will implement this

Marcelo Fornet

• Issues with compiling the contracts <- already deployed, and this should fix the near->eth transfers
  • New transfer: NearOnEth client is catching up (several hours to finish); expected to be completed
• Working on recovering of DAI tokens that stuck in the bridge

Vlad Frolov

• Merged config PR refactor: Decouple RainbowConfig #412
• Will be refactoring of the above if needed
• No specific tasks for the bridge scheduled, only reviews of the code
  • Chad: multiple things should be upgraded for the convenient development of FE. There's an intention to extract the rainbow-bridge-lib -- JS library from the frontend. Once this is done, Vlad can review it. This can be done within the cooperation with SRE team.

Chad Ostrowski

• Worked on NEP-21 bridging to Ethereum and Back.
• NPM package rainbow-bridge-utils <- this is not working in a browser (borschify proofs). We need to make this usable from the web.

Alex Shevchenko

• Working with Beta Testing community
• Testing the bridge transfers
• Partner calls
• Started to tag Hackathon projects

Questions

• Max: token connector is not upgradable how do our partners react on this?
  • We communicate the risks (security & the necessity of manual upgrade, including the complications of the process if the bridged tokens are distributed among their users). The partners is able to decide for themselves what they would like to do with the current bridge implementation.

Action points

• Alex Shevchenko: Check with Chad and Alex Skidanov whether we need to focus on NEP-21 token transfers in the FE, since these might be scheduled to be removed from the connector?
