Question: why pinning the oldest driver versions?

First of all, thank you for putting everything together and for the comprehensive description in the README.

The script installs the oldest drivers. Is it so, that the further driver version resolution is performed by Windows Update? If not, then what is the reason for having the oldest ones?

Pretty much for two reasons:

• The oldest drivers (at least from my testing) seemed to be the only ones always working, my testing devices went from Win10 1809 to latest Win11 at the time, even on old devices
• And just like you said, to avoid potential issues with updates even though they don't seem very likely

Though I do recommend trying out newer ones, if I get enough positive feedback I might switch by default ✍🏻
