`evaluate(f, [a,b,c])` and `f(a,b,c)`

While looking into Nemocas/Nemo.jl#2180 respectively #2214 I noticed that in AbstractAlgebra and Nemo the two syntax versions mentioned in the title are used somewhat interchangeably. Sometimes one of the two is an alias of the other and sometimes the other way around. I think we should decide on one to be the base implementation an then make one general alias in AbstractAlgebra. I think I'd like evaluate to be the default but perhaps we'd rather want f(...) to be the default because of #2224.

I would be in favor of having evaluate be default, because we want to minimize splatting. By this I mean, we want to not do vals... (if vals is a Vector). It is better to do [vals...] or collect(vals) if vals is a tuple/vararg.

I also would prefer to have evaluate the default, but for another reason: because I can grep for it much better, and generally find it either to e.g. "find all evaluate methods" (via methods), compared to "find all methods implementing f(args) for subtypes of RingElem).

(BTW that's why I also would prefer if for Map, the method image was the important one, and f(x) was implemented as image(f,x). But I digress)
