Arjun is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Neuroscience. This year he will be doing an independent research study under the supervision of Dr. Aaron Newman. This study aims to determine whether kids from grades 3-5 can recognize prosodic boundaries like commas using EEG. Apart from school Arjun enjoys going to the gym and working on some type of machinery.

I’m a second-year undergraduate Medical Sciences student. As part of DISP last year, I conducted research on SSVEP BCIs, writing my second scientific paper under the supervision of Dr. Aaron Newman and Max Mascini. I am back in the lab as a volunteer. Outside of academia, I’m an executive member of several societies at Dal, a patient partner with the IWK and the MSSDU, and in a nationwide research project on reducing diabetic stigma. I love spending my money on my cat, discovering new cafés, and studying with friends.

Tiana is a fourth-year undergraduate neuroscience student with a minor in computer science, and Certificate in Neurotechnology and Innovation. In the lab, Tiana is working on an independent research project under the supervision of Dr. Aaron Newman, where she is contributing to a study examining the reliability of fNIRS activity during reading tasks. When not in the lab, you can find Tiana doing anything outside! She loves to run, hike, mountain bike, and ski, but also bake sweet treats and read.
