AICoworker License — Plain English Summary

⚠️ This is a plain-English summary for clarity only. It is NOT a legal document. The legally binding terms are in LICENSE (PolyForm Perimeter 1.0.0). If anything here conflicts with LICENSE, the LICENSE file controls.

AICoworker is source-available software. Copyright remains with Neurons AI.

✅ You CAN

  • Use AICoworker for free — personally and inside any company, including commercial use
  • Run it on as many machines as you want — no per-seat licensing
  • Read, audit, and study the source code (e.g. for security review)
  • Modify the code for your own use or for your company's internal use
  • Fork the repository and share your modifications
  • Embed AICoworker into your own products or workflows, as long as the embedded use does not compete with AICoworker itself
  • Provide consulting or integration services that use AICoworker

❌ You CANNOT

  • Resell, host, or distribute AICoworker as a product that competes with AICoworker. This includes — but is not limited to:
    • Hosting AICoworker as a SaaS service for third parties
    • Offering a managed/cloud version of AICoworker to customers
    • Streaming AICoworker via remote-desktop / browser-streaming as a paid service
    • Extracting AICoworker's gateway, patches, providers, or other modules and exposing them as a hosted API
    • Re-bundling AICoworker under a different name and selling it (white-label / rebrand)
    • Any product that substitutes for the functionality or value of AICoworker, regardless of how it is interfaced or deployed
  • Remove or alter copyright, license, or trademark notices

Why this license?

We chose PolyForm Perimeter 1.0.0 — a lawyer-drafted, source-available license — because we want AICoworker to be:

  • Genuinely free for the 99% of users who just want to use, study, and modify it
  • Sustainably maintained — by preventing competitors from reselling our work as a hosted service, we can keep investing in AICoworker for everyone
