brave: video decoding problems

Describe the bug

I just updated to 26.05 unstable from 25.05 unstable, and there is a weird bug where video decoding shows a glitchy green screen. A colleague mentioned having the same issue using google meet the past few weeks, but I wasn't having the problem then on 25.05. I'm now seeing the problem using discord, the image coming in from anyone sharing their screen or video from the discord app (not browser) on linux is just a glitchy green square. Both I and the other user are on the same version of nixos, running the same version of hyprland and brave (we share dotfiles).

Steps to reproduce

Have two users:

1. open discord app/, join server
2. open discord in brave browser, join server
3. share video, person using brave will see a glitchy green blob where the other persons video is expected to be

Tested the same above using firefox and the problem is not there.

Expected behaviour

Video and screen sharing should work
