Cannot install in Kubuntu 24.04 due to lack of privileges

Had to right-click the downloaded .deb file and select 'open with QApt' in order to get prompted for root password; the installation ended with no errors but still I can't seem to find a batch rename option other than the one that comes with the distro in Dolphin's file context menu. Any ideas?

The recommended install workflow (Dolphin - settings - configure Dolphin - context menu - download new...) fails altogether with an authentication error because Dolphin lacks root privileges. However the file does get downloaded to /usr/local/bin/Batch_Renamer so I could proceed with QApt.

(Edit: I finally found the Batch Rename option added to Dolphin's file context menu - one of my Dolphin windows was minimized and I did not notice so I wasn't actually closing the active Dolphin instances and the new option could not be included)
