automove not working with specific folders

im having what i believe to be permission issues with autotools and rtorrent. I have a NAS drive mapped in fstab and mounted to a folder rtorrent can see and write to without issues. my problem is if i write to the nas as an example to the /incomplete folder upon finishing it will not move to the /complete folder. however, if i start the file on the local disk /home/jason/torrents, then upon finishing it has no issue moving to the /complete folder on the nas.

i did read here: https://github.com/Novik/ruTorrent/blob/master/plugins/autotools/readme.en.txt#L63 but it doesnt clarify why it works local to nas but not nas to nas.

i am running rutorrent on Ubuntu 18.04 server installed from the swizzin box script
