Description
As of now, OS/1337 "Branding" and Logo uses Ubuntu Mono which is a font made by Canonical and released under the Ubuntu Font License, which is rather restrictive (MPL-esque).
- A suitable drop-in replacement would be B612 Mono, which is available for free under the SIL OFL as a more permissive license.
I originally considered Sun Galant Demi Mono, which was original to Solaris and as part of OpenSolaris got released under CDDL and subsequently ended up in illumos as it's console font, but since I could only find a non-vector / pixelated version of fixed size, I think it's not a good fit.
- Furthermore B612 Mono looks very close to Ubuntu Mono and is a stylistic upgrade, plus it's also "Aviation Certified" in that Airbus contracted it for use in Cockpit displays, which have quite harsh criteria to legibility under subobtimal conditions like heavy and asymetric vibrations beyond the maximum what any commercial plane type would be expected to survive in a test flight.
I consider this a low-priority issue but something to keep ticketed an on the radar.
