@andylapping It's unfrotunate that it will take some time before I can update the instructions. You should not be getting these problems - but you are. I believe there is some something more basic missing in the instructions that is confusing things.

@andylapping, what samples are we talking about? This repo has no sample code. I went over all samples a few months ago and none of the maintained ones have such an issue: https://github.com/OSLC/lyo-samples. I think Java 1.5 source level is the default level in Eclipse. If you found links to some other samples, please report them so that we can remove them and replace them with the ones that run. If you started your project by creating a blank POM file, make sure to set the Java source code version via a property: https://www.baeldung.com/maven-java-version#compiler

Both Andy and Jad, feel free to edit the Markdown of this website directly to revise the instructions. Every page should have a Edit this page on Github link, which you can use to make a PR. If you will make those updates, I will take care of regenerating the HTML and publishing it.

Regarding Java 11: Lyo 2.4+ is known to work under Java 11 without problems. Lyo 5.0 will only support Java 11 and up (for now, the build passes with Java 11 LTS and Java 15 MTS).

Regarding email contact for anyone else reading this: me and Jad know Andy, that's why we have an ad-hoc channel. Everyone is welcome to raise issues here and make PRs to update the documentation.
