To have different capabilities for superusers, such as moderation, taxonomy, etc. The different capabilities would have permission sets and different views of the control panel of the system.

For example, a moderator can:

• see who has volunteered to be a curator for a taxon;
• approve or reject an application to be a curator; and
• view the list of curator in the system.

However, a moderator cannot modify/edit the taxonomy.

For example, a taxonomer can:

• add/delete a taxon; and
• rearrange/edit a taxon.

But, a taxonomer cannot approve an application to be a curator.

The email notifications that a superuser gets will also depends on the capabilities.

There will be four different groups of users:

• Moderator;
• Taxonomer;
• Superuser;
• Normal user;

Specification for a moderator:

• View requests to maintain a taxon;
• Response to request to maintain a taxon (accept/reject) and add extra comment in the response box;
• View history of past response;
• Receive an email when a user request to maintain a taxon;

Specification for a taxonomer:

• Able to modify the taxonomy tree and metadata;
• Move, split, create a taxon (regardless of the ownership);
• Receive an email when a user send a request to add a new taxon;

Specification for a superuser:

• A superuser has both the capabilities of a moderator and taxonomer;
• A superuser will receive all email regarding the system, such as request to maintain a taxon, request to add a new taxon and contact us.
• A superuser can view the admin panel.

Specification for a normal user:

• Can request to maintain a taxon;
• Can send a request to add a new taxon;
• Able to send suggestions/comments using contact us;
• Only able to add references if he/she has ownership of the taxon.

RE: revoking - Revoking can currently only be done by the owner. The ability for moderators to revoke will be a separate improvement/discussion. Aside from this, the implementation is mostly there but requires testing which we can do tomorrow.
