Cannot get itemId which is one of recurring meeting in Outlook desktop.

Cannot get Outlook itemId which is one of recurring meeting schedule in desktop app.

Your Environment

• Platform [PC desktop, Mac, iOS, Office on the web]: Outlook classic desktop. This issue doesn't occur in Outlook modern desktop app.
• Office version number: 2412
• Operating System: Windows
• Browser (if using Office on the web): this doesn't occur in browser.

Expected behavior

Get the Outlook ItemId of an opened schedule of recurring meetings by executing "Office.context.mailbox.item.getItemIdAsync".

Current behavior

I am able to get the item ID for the first meeting in Outlook classic desktop app, but cannot get the item ID for the second and subsequent meetings. Instead of the item ID, the series master ID is retrieved.
I'm sure I could get an Outlook item id until middle of Dec 2024.
And still I can get the item id in modern desktop app.

Possible solution (Extracted from existing issue, might be incorrect; please verify carefully)

Solution 1:

If you are using this on an existing meeting for which you're the organizer, you should be using the item.getItemIdAsync() API - you shouldn't need to do saveAsync. Office.context.item.itemId will be null for organizer mode.

Solution 2:

The issue has been verified as fixed and the fix should be completely rolled out. Please ensure you are using the latest version of Outlook.

I attempted to get itemId(one of reccuring meeting), by doing those solutions following.

but still I got a series master id, not its item id...

@haru-pong Thanks for reporting the issue. I tried to repro but I was able to get the child meeting item id. When you open the meeting, did you select the child meeting or the whole series?
