[Announcement] JDK8 will no longer be supported as part of the upcoming v7.0.0 release

JDK8 will no longer be supported as part of the upcoming v7.0.0 release as JDK8 already reached the EOL: https://endoflife.date/java.

The project will require JDK11 moving forward.

The output of the Java client/server generators will gradually switch to JDK11.

Is there any way to ensure that the project is scanned for vulnerabilities with something like BlackDuck prior to release? I understand that the Generators aren't necessarily the same, but when the repo is scanned and contains the JAR file they are flagged, and due to security policies we cannot use an outside source for the file.

Since Java 8 will be supported for security updates until 2030 (longer than Java 11), is there any option planned to generate java 8 compatible code?
