linux 1.10 not working on tuxedos (ubuntu based)

Describe the bug
tomviz is not working in my system tuxedos, it is related to QT, when i try to run it (the tar stable version)
i am getting:

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. download the tar version of the web page
2. extract tomviz tar
3. cd tomviz/bin
4. ./tomviz

I saw that there is a flatpak version in the mean time, this one works, would it have an impact on performance in using it instead of the tar version? I have large data sets to work on.

The flatpak version also stopped working recently (January 2026).

If you are on Linux the suggested way to install tomviz is now to use anaconda (or a derivative) and the conda-forge packages. Something like this should work:

conda create -name tomviz -c conda-forge python=3.13 tomviz
conda activate tomviz
tomviz
