Dear @tlemoignan, Yes, that is all correct. NREL has supplied a set of full OpenFAST input files in the regression test (r-test) repository--see: https://github.com/OpenFAST/r-test. Do you already know which FOWT you are trying simulate? Best regards, |

Hi,
I am trying to use OpenFAST for a university project, but so far I am a bit lost with how to go about this. I am using Windows and have downloaded the binaries from https://github.com/OpenFAST/openfast/releases and was hoping to get some help as to where to go from here.
I understand to run a simulation I need to open a command prompt in the directory containing my input file and enter something like:
>OpenFAST_x64.exe input.fstBut I am unsure how to find/create an input file, I'm assuming this file contains all the input parameters needed to run a simulation.
Is this the right approach to be taking if I want to generate some FOWT motion data?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Tom
