Description
Splitting this out from #188:
Ideally, the user will be taken to an appropriate location, zoom, and time, using start_date for non-natural features. For natural features, the time should not change from prior to the search.**
I think we don't want to always change to start_date. For example, if I am looking at London in 1852 and I click on a building built in 1607, I wouldn't expect the timeslider to go to 1607.
Absolutely.
If object exists at current time, leave time unchanged.
If object does not exist at current time, any of start_date, end_date, start_date + end_date / 2 work for me, although the latter option has a certain appeal.
I think this is not a near-term feature. Need to think through how these links would be constructed, etc.
