OpenKaggle Community Conduct

OpenKaggle is a shared workbench. Be curious, patient, specific, and kind.

  • Welcome people with different experience levels, languages, backgrounds, and competition histories.
  • Critique claims, methods, and evidence—not the person sharing them.
  • Ask for clarification before assuming carelessness or bad intent.
  • Make uncertainty, failed experiments, and corrections safe to publish.
  • Do not use rank, medals, affiliation, or writing fluency to dismiss someone.
  • Respect privacy, licenses, competition rules, and responsible disclosure boundaries.
  • Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, spam, or expose private information.

Maintainers may edit, hide, reject, or remove material that breaks these expectations, and may limit participation when needed to keep the workbench safe. If a problem involves a maintainer, use the private contact in SECURITY.md rather than escalating publicly.

Reporting and enforcement

For a non-sensitive conduct concern, open an issue or contact a maintainer with the repository, link, approximate date, and a short description. Do not paste private messages, personal information, credentials, or restricted competition material into a public report. Use the private address in SECURITY.md when the report itself would expose something sensitive.

Maintainers may ask for context, moderate or close harmful content, restrict participation, or remove a contribution. They should explain the action when doing so will not expose private details. Retaliation for a good-faith report is not acceptable. A contributor may request a re-review by the organization owner; urgent privacy or safety action may happen before that review.
