Which maven wrapper is using? If above 3.1.1, no need to change urgently. If below or 3.1.1, usually the latest release version, but need to verify first. Make sure no surprise that it works with all supported Java versions.

...the "Modernize to Liberty" webview doesn't open when opening a project with spaces in its name. It remains stuck on the "Gathering information about your application..." message.

I think just simply call the starter to generate a project, make sure the mvnw works on Mac/Linux, and mvnw.cmd works on Windows.

Also, either send the starter url or a generated project to the DevEx team, (e.g. @TrevCraw or @turkeylurkey) and ask them to verify it.
