Firestore permission error when logged in using Gmail alias address with plus "+" sign

Describe the bug
UI doesn't load because of Firestore permission error when using a Gmail alias that includes the plus "+" sign, e.g. carmelo+test@opennetworking.org. I was trying to verify #152 by creating a new non-admin account.

To Reproduce
Create a new account using a Gmail alias that includes the plus "+" sign, e.g. carmelo+test@opennetworking.org. Click on the sign-in link received via email. At this point, the UI should fail loading and the Javascript console should show the Firestore permission error.

Expected behavior
I would expect the portal to work for any email address, including Gmail aliases.
