Network expansion

Here is an overview of the partners that we have reached already with the Open Webslides and COCOON project and who we want to reach in the future.

Already involved:

  • Faculty of Engineering and Architecture
  • Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences
  • Faculty of Bioscience Engineering
  • Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
  • Faculty of Sciences
  • Faculty of Law

Not yet involved:

  • Faculty of Political and Social Sciences
  • Faculty of Arts and Philosophy
  • Faculty of Economics and Business Administration
  • Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
  • Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Faculties involved in the Innoversity Challenge

Overview of the numbers of ideas submitted to the challenge across faculties.

Overview of the topics that have been selected for the first coaching session (December 14-15). Our project certainly covers the first four topics.

  • Crowd: how can students co-create course material and solutions to their problems?
  • Democracy: how can we bring students and professors together?
  • Audiovisual: how can we provide the necessary audiovisual support for teaching/learning?
  • Dual learning: how can we bring the Ghent community closer together?
  • Marketplace: how do we install a market where competences, skills and knowledge can be traded?

Ideas for network expansion

Here is a list of people we think might be interested or who could make a contribution to the project. Our goal is to bring these pioneers together in a community of practice (CoP).

UGent pioneers

These are the people or departments who might be teaching courses with open webslides, Jupyter notebooks etc.

beta sciences

  • other pioneers at Elis (in particular Multimedia Lab)?
  • other pioneers at the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering?
  • other pioneers at the technologiepark?
  • Stijn Van Hoey, Joris Van den Bossche and Michiel Stock (see our network of contributors) organized a Jupyter notebook session: who was present?
  • various data-analysis departments across faculties
  • master in statistical data-analysis (e.g. contact them via Olivier Thas)
  • Peter Dawyndt (teaches programming and computational courses at the Faculty of Sciences)
  • Jan De Neve (from the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering and teaches statistics in 1st bachelor of psychology)
  • current Latex users?

alpha and gamma sciences

And of course we should connect to the students too.

UGent partners

These are the UGent experts who might be able to contribute to the project by sharing their skills, knowledge and network.

ICT related

  • DICT (we will be able to contact DICT through the Innoversity Challenge too, more information should reach us soon)
  • Minerva team
