The feature request
The recently rolled out feature of generating commit messages uses copilot works only with github repositories. if a repository is not hosted in github the button is not visible.
Version: 3.5.0
OS: Mac 15.4 (Not platform specific same with windows 11 as well.)
Proposed solution
Enable the copilot generated commit messages feature for all the repositories, if the repo is hosted elsewhere or even if repo is just local and don't have any remote.
Additional context
I have few repos that are self-hosted or just in my machine and not pushed to anywhere, if copilot generated commit messages work there, it would be really great. I use VS Code + copilot which can generate commit message for any repo irrespective of where its hosted so hoping same should be fine here.
