Hi Peppermint team,
I've worked with a few ticketing systems through Amazon professionally, and when I stumbled across Peppermint as a self-hosted option for homelab use, I had to give it a try. Really impressed with how simple and clean the UI is overall — great work.
After spending some time creating and editing tickets, I wanted to share a few suggestions that I think would improve the experience:
When creating a ticket, you can set things like whether it's internal, who it's assigned to, and the ticket type (Feedback, Service, Incident, Bug, Maintenance, etc.). However, once the ticket is created, several of these fields can no longer be edited. It would be helpful to be able to update these after the fact, since ticket classification often changes as more info comes in.
When posting a comment on a ticket, the text remains in the input box after submitting instead of clearing. This makes it easy to accidentally double-post the same comment.
There's currently no option for a user to edit a comment they've already posted on a ticket. Even basic edit capability (perhaps with an "edited" indicator) would be a nice addition.
The priority indicator on the dashboard doesn't seem to reflect the actual priority set on the ticket — it doesn't match what's shown when you open the ticket itself.
Happy to provide screenshots or more detail on any of these if helpful. Thanks for building and maintaining this — it's a great project for homelab and small-team use!
