problem with openhab on pi4: not handling mcp23017

hi, I'm using a PI4 with great satisfaction that runs me openhab. I encounter a problem with the management (through the appropriate binding) of a mcp23017 device. I can interact with the component from the terminal but from OH I can't draw and send the states of the pins. I write here even if in fact the problem is elsewhere, hoping that some user like me has already come across the same problem and maybe solved it. thanks for the replies.

I did 1000 tests but I can't get it to work...
updated lava 11.0.16.
updated pi4j 1.40.
added openhab user to i2c group.
installed binding from ui.
the result is always the same: ucite/entrate=null. Does anyone have any ideas that might help me?
