Hey @mymx2! I have yet to read through the full scope of P3C-PMD, but on cursory inspection (and from what I remember about PMD when I last used it), it should be possible to define an Error Prone-equivalent rule for most (all?) PMD rules. We're a small team with (very) high code review standards, which may at times slow down our "throughput", especially for more complex pull requests. I recommend starting with simple-yet-high-impact (and uncontroversial) rules. When in doubt, it might be best to ask for specific rules whether we'd accept them and/or have implementation advice. We could simply use this discussion thread for that, or file issues on a case-by-case basis. :) |

The Alibaba P3C repository is no longer maintained.
I plan to migrate my existing projects from PMD to Error Prone, and from p3c-pmd to error-prone-support.
This effort will likely require a deep understanding of both PMD and Error Prone rule systems.
It’s a long-term initiative aimed at helping existing P3C users smoothly transition to error-prone-support.
I’m documenting this idea here and would be glad to contribute to this effort.
Do you think this would be a feasible direction to pursue?
