passing "[[selection]]" variable

I have been trying to pass "[[selection]]" as a parameter in call service to a script which sends a notification. I was unable to get selection coordinates. My notification script displays "[[selection]]". Any idea what is the right syntax?

Have you used [[selection]] inside the script or in the card's config itself?

At this moment they are calculated and used only when clicking "start" button. You can add a custom map_mode to use them. What do you want to achieve?

I wanted to use Your card only for area selection. I want to use custom buttons and switches combined with node-red to control vacuum

You can try with custom map mode with run_immediately: true in its config
