Using StyleX / react-strict-dom with plasmo

Has anyone tried to get these libraries to work with plasmo?

I have a monorepo setup with one of the newer apps being a plasmo extension but I cannot get it to work with our react-strict-dom design system

I have a fairly standard babel config

& I can see that it is being picked up by the plasmo parcel bundler for my content scripts using BABEL_SHOW_CONFIG_FOR

But I cannot seem to get past the error

'stylex.create' should never be called at runtime. It should be compiled away by '@stylexjs/babel-plugin'

Any ideas?
