Launch Plan: Mobile Replay

Mobile replay is coming as it's own thing. There are some caveats and things to know:

• It'll be an add-on, not a full product
• It'll be iOS and Android only for now (not Flutter or React, which will stay in beta)
• We have beta users already running for it
• Exact launch date is TBD, but sooner rather than later
• Here's the cohort for beta users

But mostly this is just stuff to roll into the comms. For now, after chatting to various peeps, we think we can push this as a pretty basic beta->release change. So here's the plan.

Beta reward

We usually like to give beta users a reward for their help. In this case they can all get three months of free mobile replay, but maybe there's something else we can do. But because of the accelerated timeline we're likely on, digital or simple ideas probably best. Some quick ideas below that I'd love contrubutions too:

• Exclusive, limited run t-shirt (I joined the PostHog beta and all I got was this awesome t-shirt)
• Exclusive mobile wallpapers or community badge
• Exclusive mobile-themed sticker pack

Before launch - Deadline: Jan 30

OK, so it sounds like we're giving beta users 3 months free. Launching soonish, let's put that date at 30 April.

So, revised announcement emails. For these, I'm directing users to the mobile replay docs. There doesn't seem to be a good in-app option and pricing isn't going to be prominent on the pricing page.

And a follow-up email I'll schedule for 21 April to that beta cohort:

Just tagging @bijanbwb for your visibility on this as replay docs are you domain now! I've tagged you on the docs item. I suspect the only thing needed is to remove the beta tag to various pages when we go live, but worth just taking a look and finding if there's anything in the mobile replay specific docs needs attention.

I know people wants to release this asap, I am working in the pricing changes needed for this. It's my first time doing a change like this in the codebase so a bit hard to estimate considering could be some unexpected challenges. But I saw you suggested end of January Joe, with 3 months free until April 30th. I think that could be doable.
