We could phase out me and men by recognizing that md and mdn lacked an mrow structure, and mimicing the behavior of me and men in those cases.

We'd want to make his optional at first, then a general deprecation warning, then specific deprecation warnings. Schematron rules could be used to provide exhaustive locations during some interim periods.

Sorry, I'm missing something here - why would we want to phase out me? Maybe I've been using it wrong this whole time! I just used it as a replacement for $$ (yes yes I know some people prefer \[). Or is it just because we could drop a tag since this should be fairly easy to implement?

(Though as a side note apparently I've been missing out, because md seems to be able to handle what I currently do with multiple consecutive mes.)
