📝 Contributor License Agreement (CLA)

Thank you for your interest in contributing to this project.
To protect the integrity and consistency of licensing across Preponderous Software projects, all contributors must agree to the following terms.

1. Definitions

  • "You" – The individual or legal entity submitting a contribution to this project.
  • "Contribution" – Any source code, documentation, translations, graphics, data, or other work submitted to this project, in any form.
  • "Project" – This software repository and its associated assets, licensed under the Preponderous Non-Commercial License (Preponderous-NC).
  • "Author" – Daniel McCoy Stephenson, sole copyright holder.

2. License of Contributions

By submitting a Contribution, You agree that:

  1. You grant the Author a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, modify, distribute, and sublicense your Contribution under the same license terms as the Project.
  2. You agree that your Contribution will be released under the Preponderous Non-Commercial License (Preponderous-NC), without additional compensation to You.
  3. You have the legal right to submit the Contribution and to grant the above license.

3. Ownership & Copyright

  • Preponderous Software is not a legal entity.
    All rights to works published under this license are reserved by the copyright holder, Daniel McCoy Stephenson.
  • You retain copyright to your Contribution, but you license it to the Author under the terms stated above.
  • You agree not to assert any patent claims against the Author or the Project arising from your Contribution.

4. Representation & Warranty

By submitting a Contribution, You confirm that:

  • The Contribution is your original work, or you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit it.
  • The Contribution does not infringe on any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.
  • The Contribution is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.

5. Commercial Use

This Project is licensed under the Preponderous-NC license.
Commercial use of the Project or any Contribution requires a separate commercial license from the Author.

6. Agreement

By opening a pull request, submitting patches, or otherwise contributing to this Project, You indicate that You have read and agree to the terms of this CLA.
