Replace react-scripts with vite? #198
Description
react-scripts was updated 5 months ago (as of this writing), but it's not getting a lot of love; there are dependency conflicts with it and the major version upgrade of Typescript. Should we migrate the frontend to vite? Viject might do the trick.
While there are several potential replacements, given that we have largely standardized on Svelte, including in this frontend, and Svelte uses vite, and backend uses vitest... vite makes the most sense.
