Hello Proton developers,
I'm trying to use the firefox add on to connect with Proton VPN Service but I can't establish a valid connection to any site. Login is OK but browsing doesn't work. I get the message "Error code: SEC_ERROR_OCSP_SERVER_ERROR" while opening any site.

Are there any ports to open besides 4446?
Is LibreWolf the problem?

For anyone else running into this same error:

Librewolf uses OCSP in hard-fail mode by default, and this is not compatible with most proxy and VPN extensions (like this one). See here: https://librewolf.net/docs/faq/#im-getting-sec_error_ocsp_server_error-what-can-i-do

To fix this, go into the browser > Settings -> LibreWolf -> Un-check "Enforce OCSP hard-fail" under Security at the bottom.

I just move into LibreWolf and the same thing is happening to me, is there any solution for this?

Hello, I will check if something changed on our servers or on Librewolf. I see it works again when disabling enforcing OCSP hard-fail here:

This is by default disabled in Firefox which is the reason why it happens specifically on Librewolf and not on Firefox.

I also need to learn more about this setting to understand what is the threat it's supposed to protect against.

FYI, seeing the same issue in the latest stable Firefox (137.0.2)...

Fixed when toggling security.OCSP.require to false in about:config.
