RF field polarization EIT spectrum calculation.

Thank you for the Rydiqule project! It’s a very handy tool, and I’ve been exploring the V2 features. I’m working on a cesium 4-level system to measure RF fields and would like to calculate EIT spectra where the RF and laser polarizations are misaligned. Is this possible in Rydiqule?

Apologies for being very slow to respond. This is certainly possible with rydiqule, but rydiqule does not provide the functionality to automatically define the couplings. Basically, you will need to write all field polarizations in a consistent quantization axis, coupling to the appropriate magnetic sublevels. For instance, a linearly polarized field written in a quantization axis defined by the optical propagation axis would have a equal superposition of left/right circular polarizations. To make defining such a field simpler, you would want to use a coupling group so that parameters for each sub-level coupling track each other. The NMOR example notebook gives some examples of how this is done in a related context.

Ultimately, if you know how to write down the Hamiltonian for the system, getting rydiqule to model it isn't too hard, though it can require some work for a more complicated system like the one you are looking at.
