the whole screen becomes tinted blue when staring at a secret

when i stare at a secret waypoint, occasionally the screen will shine tinted blue, which is very frustrating and makes it hard to play the game. When i look down or away from any waypoint, its fine, but otherwise, the blue covers the whole screen other than the gui.
