convert to complex elements

What is the way with this interface to transform a vector of reals (over a field of reals) into complexs?

The interface doesn't currently have a specific alternative to convert or similar. There is zerovector(some_vector, some_new_scalar_type).

If you want to have full control of the new scalar type T, where in your case T would be some Complex type, the recommended way would be to do

scale!(zerovector(some_vector, T), original_vector, one(T))

though simply doing

scale(original_vector, one(T))

should also work, if you don't mind some potential promotion, e.g.:

julia> typeof(scale(randn(Float64, 5), one(ComplexF32)))
Vector{ComplexF64} (alias for Array{Complex{Float64}, 1})
