Problem Description
Xgboost cannot be compiled on ROCm 7.0.1 due to a conflict between thrust::hip namespace in src/common/cuda_to_hip
in Xgboost source tree and /opt/rocm/include/thrust/system/hip/detail/par.h
.
First round of errors boil down to:

It is repeated a few times with cross_system.h file changing to another file within ROCm. The full errors are in errors_round1.txt and my "fixes" are in fix_round1.txt. Then I got similar errors arising from Xgboost's source code, again conflict in thrust::hip namespace. Those are in errors_round2.txt and fixups are in fix_round2.txt, this time fixes are applied to xgboost source tree. After that xgboost compiles and successfully runs on my system using ROCm 7.0.1.
