Games won't launch with wireless controller (Joytron Cyvox 2 Air)

Machine

• Ryzen 5 3600x
• RTX 3060ti
• 16GB

RPCS3 works well on my machine and with other controllers

• Wired: XBox 360, Shaks, Joytron EX Revolution
• Wireless: Shaks S2i, 8bitdo

However, when using a Joytron Cyvox 2 Air controller (wireless), games won't launch and RPCS3 goes into a "Not Responding" state.

The Cyvox controller is recognised on Windows under Device Manager as an XBox 360 Peripheral and "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows" and it is recognised in RPCS3 under Pads as one of the XInput controllers. It works when the controller screen is open - all the button mappings are correct and respond to input from the controller. However, if I try to launch a game, the program freezes.

If I disconnect the controller and launch a game and then plug in the controller, I can use the controller without problem. It is only when launching a game while the controller is plugged in that the program freezes.
