Describe the bug

Hello. This forum feed outputs links with an incorrectly escaped character: &.

Example: https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=48561&sid=f42ebcfe8130b460d4ac15df69d820b1.

Expected behavior

Preferably, sid parameters would be removed automatically: https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=48561.

I don't believe that's possible with CssSelectorBridge, as it's meant to be generic.

But you can use ModifyBridge to overwrite the URL and remove sid parameter from each article URL.

Parameters:

• Feed URL: https://rss-bridge.org/bridge01/?action=display&bridge=CssSelectorBridge&home_page=https%3A%2F%2Fnewsgroup.xnview.com%2Fviewforum.php%3Ff%3D115&url_selector=.forumbg+ul%2Bul+.topictitle&url_pattern=&content_selector=&content_cleanup=&title_cleanup=&limit=&format=Mrss (your feed URL)
• URI/URL find pattern: &sid=[^&]*

This will go over the each article and remove any match for above regex, cleaning up the sid parameter.

I understand that this type of bridge is meant to be generic, but sid stands for session ID. phpBB forums keep generating different links every time your service access it, causing duplicate feed entries.

Isn’t the above solution using ModifyBridge working though?

The sid parameter is removed from the link.

Thank you for pointing me to this other bridge. It is a good workaround, but I thought you'd be interested in removing common tracking parameters from all feeds automatically.

Either way, the parser needs to be fixed not to output & .
