Describe the bug

Several RSS feeds from ACS journals are not updating in Folo. The RSS feed URLs are accessible and contain new items, but Folo does not pull in the latest entries over time.

Affected feeds include JPC(C), JCIM, JPC(B), JCTC, and so on.

Thanks for reporting this.

We checked the affected ACS feeds. The feeds are still registered in Folo and our scheduler is still attempting to refresh them, but requests from our backend to pubs.acs.org/action/showFeed... are currently being blocked by ACS/Cloudflare. From server-side fetches, the endpoint returns a Cloudflare challenge / 403 response, or appears as fetch failed in production, so Folo cannot retrieve the RSS XML and therefore cannot insert the latest entries.

This appears to affect multiple ACS journal feeds, not only the feed IDs listed here. We are looking for a reliable workaround or alternate fetch path and will try to mitigate it as much as possible.

Reply from the ACS support (July 18, 2026): "We’re sorry to inform you that the RSS feed is currently unavailable due to a system update. At this time, we do not have an estimated turnaround for when it will be restored."
