Hello,

I'm trying to use immich mediakit (app seems amazing).
Based on thumbs scan with 0,90, I only have 4 duplicates (Immich displays 800 pictures).
(My problem is that I have lots of +1, +2 file du to immich-Go import. The picture I want to keep is sometime not heaviest...)

Could you please explain the best way to use you app and manage duplicates? reset scan, etc?

Check out the Advanced Strategies section in the README for detailed guidance.

For your situation:

1. Try a lower threshold with limited groups

Start with threshold 0.65 and enable Multi Mode with Max Groups = 10. This helps find more matches without overwhelming results.

2. Use the progressive approach

Work your way up to filter out less similar matches:

• Start at 0.65 → review results
• Raise to 0.75 → fewer but more similar
• Continue to 0.85+ → near-duplicates only

Use Reset Records before changing thresholds.

3. Keeping non-largest files

In Auto Selection, adjust the weights based on your preference:

• FileSize +3 keeps larger files
• Name Longer +3 prefers descriptive filenames
• Set negative values to reverse the preference
