Error downloading video: Error: Command failed

An error message always appears:
Error downloading video: Error: Command failed: N_m3u8DL-RE -sv res="1080*":codec=hvc1:for=best "undefined" --save-dir
"domestika_courses/Imaginary Places- Draw, Paint, and Digitize on Photoshop/Final project/Final project" --save-name "0_Final project"

Unfortunately, the console does not provide any further explanation.

Make sure your computer will open N_m3u8DL-RE. I ran into this error, on mac os, because my computer was blocking it from being opened since it didn't trust the developers. I allowed it in system preferences and it the downloads started working.

Hi @livrush , I have the same error with "Final Project", it downloads all the units correctly but the final project gives an error and does not download that video

I have the same problem on macos, already gone through the Privacy and Security settings and make sure it "Open Anyway" and I can open it when manually running the file. But the script still doesn't works.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

I am getting the same errors when trying to download a course with a "Final Project" unit.
this is the error I'm getting on the console:

I used this value in the "credentials" const:

Whas that format Ok? or should I use another extension to get it?

I have the same issue, and I don´t see any solution anywhere. The videos are not downloading in the dosmestika course folder. Only the subtitles.

I solved the issue. I still get the error for "final project", but for anyone getting the error in general.

1. Install the newest version of FFMPEG codec : https://www.gyan.dev/ffmpeg/builds/
2. Extract it to C:\ffmpeg
3. Now you should have C:\ffmpeg\ffmpeg-\bin\ffmpeg.exe
4. Using terminal, create System PATH, using PowerShell. Something like:

# Add FFmpeg to system PATH

  "Path",
  [Environment]::GetEnvironmentVariable("Path", "Machine") + ";C:\ffmpeg\bin",
  "Machine"
)

# Add N_m3u8DL-RE to system PATH

  [Environment]::GetEnvironmentVariable("Path", "Machine") + ";C:\Location of domestika downloader\N_m3u8DL-RE",
  "Machine"
)

Apparently the issue where you get error for every video, come from N_m3u8DL-RE not being able to fetch the codec.

Hopefully someone with programming knowledge can explain it better than I do. But this worked for me.
