This should not have happened as osxphotos takes a lot of care to try to preserve all unicode characters when exporting. Do you recall what the specific errors were? This might have something to do with the export volume or NFS. @oPromessa uses a Synology with unicode characters so he might have some insight.
This is indeed strange. Does the old album still exist in Photos? Did you export to the same folder with I would have expected Find one of the problem photos in Photos and select it in the library view then run this command:
Either send me the output to [email protected] or post here (it may contain sensitive data such as locations). That will help me figure out what's going on. |

Unicode characters@Ruvetuve I do use osxphotos to export to Synology NAS using SMB for years now.
SMB PerformanceThis debate extensively talks about SMB optimization although I'd like to point out I've gone with the initial basic setups:
I get shis speed (BlackMagic Disk Speed test - 1GB Files test)![]() My Synology NAS - SMB Configuration![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hi, Initial transfer via SMB has been done (cabeled internal gbit to synology via SMB). Im not sure if this is slow or not, maybe I should try NFS as well. Total: 576GB its about 6.3 MB/s

Hi,
I'm testing osxphotos on my Library to create a back-up to my NAS in case I lose my external SSD with the Photos library.
I'm using this command.
/Volumes/incoming/test is a Synology directory mounted via NFS (SMB was really slow!) on a SSD
Yesterday i've exported the Library and it gave me allot of errors on one specific album that had the letter ë in it. I've since renamed the album in Photos to include the letter e instead of ë.
Now I've run the export command again with the --cleanup flag. I would expect the old album with ë in it to be removed. But now both albums are exported and nothing is cleaned from these albums.
The cleanup worked for other (e.g. Synology eadir structure) type of files/directories.
Question
Thank you in advance, awesome tool!
