The application GUI just crashed release 7.12.0

Steps to reproduce:

1. Upgrade to version 7.12.0 or 7.11.0
2. Log in under any user
3. Refresh the page

The problem repeats on any browser.
I see a problem on the frontend side in the console.
TypeError: window.crypto.randomUUID is not a function

There are no server side errors

Same problem for me updating from 7.10.3 to 7.11 or 7.12 crashed the gui on first reload.

No error logs on backend. Same error on frontend.

Do you have custom CSS, custom scripts or custom fields?

Any of them can cause GUI to crash. If you have, try:

• copy
• remove
• restart server
  Should work to pinpoint what is causing the crash

Only happens when you don't use TLS
randomUUID() is only available in a secure context.

I have a similar problem. I had version 7.9, which added custom emojis. After that, the admin page became unavailable and license verification errors started popping up. We updated the server to 7.12.0, but the errors persisted.
We cleaned the database of custom emojis, CSS styles, and scripts. It didn't help. Any other suggestions? The error on the admin page is as follows:

This issue only occurs for users with the admin role.

I encountered the same issue with versions 7.11 and 7.12, but I found a workaround. By enabling the "Delete User Session" option under Settings → Account, you will be logged out automatically, and the error "TypeError: window.crypto.randomUUID" will no longer appear. Even reloading the page works properly afterwards

Cache is often a cause.

Always clear & reload.

To clarify: clearing cookies specifically resolves this issue (cached files are not the problem).

Safest method (only affects Rocket.Chat, not other sites):

1. Click the padlock icon (🔒) in the address bar on the error page
2. Click "Cookies" or "Site settings"
3. Find and remove all cookies for the Rocket.Chat domain
4. Reload the page
5. edit: Sign in → The app becomes usable
6. edit: Reload the page
7. edit: Reproduce the error
8. edit: You should clear the cookie each time

This targets only the authentication cookies causing the issue without affecting other sites.
