Recently had to add:
127.0.0.1 7hewqka7ix.adobe.io

then thought won't it be easier to block:

*.adobe.io

at the internet ROUTER level, not sure if absolutely ALL these hosts are required to block, maybe add a note in README how to block at router or firewall level.. either way, thanks for the effort! that IP definitely showed up in network traces on my side.

I've tried the wildcard link for adobe before and it just never worked,

right, windows does not have built-in wildcard support in hosts file, although open source Acrylic DNS Proxy easily supports wildcards:

maybe this can be integrated somehow.. the wildcards work in routers, or firewalls.. this is all probably automated on their end so its a never-ending task to update each ip.. long term, some wildcards is much more effective..

then question comes, why didn't the patch of binary/ddl remove this pinging in the first place :) :) confirmed once this added to hosts file the program kept running..

My dear, quick update.. installed "openwrt" on small PC, and it now acts as main router.. within few minutes figured that adding this single line to the DNS ip list:

/adobe.io/#

blocks ALL *.adobe.io traffic... incredible, on all PCs, so no need to maintain /etc/hosts on all of them, just FYI.. hoping it would hold will know in coming weeks/months.. just FYI..
