It seems that the detections are most likely false positives, mainly because the binary is not code-signed. Unfortunately, obtaining a code-signing certificate is quite expensive, and since this is free software, I don’t plan to purchase one.

If you are concerned, I recommend not using the software. Please note that it is distributed under the MIT or Apache 2.0 license and comes with no warranty — use at your own risk.
