Features for the next major version

Happy to get your opinions on the features that should be provided by the next major version. I will update this list from time to time.

High probability

• Java version
  • add support for Java 21 (LTS) (due in September 2023)
• update Spring Boot to 3.x
• migrate from OpenTracing to OpenTelemetry
• update Snakeyaml to 2.x

Discuss

• change default value deserializer for Kafka to org.springframework.kafka.support.serializer.JsonDeserializer?

Today we successfully release version 3 that includes the above mentioned features. Closing this discussion and opening a new one.
