Informal definitions, for conceptual purposes only. They are simplified interpretations used to describe the functional architecture and should not be treated as the formal legal definitions set out in Regulation (EU) 2024/1028.

The process of regulating rental activities in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2024/1028.
The physical location of a property associated with a listing or activity.
The geographical zone in which an address is located, within the context of a listing or activity.
An authority responsible for enforcing regulations (listing, activity) in designated regulated areas for short-term rentals.
An individual who offers a private residence for short-term rental.
A short-term rental offering published on a short-term rental platform.
The process of overseeing compliance with listing regulations.
An authority responsible for monitoring compliance with listing regulations.
In SDEP-NL: Autoriteit Consument & Markt (ACM).
The process of regulating listings in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2024/1028.
An internal SDEP component that screens the listings submitted by platforms (random checks) and raises flags, for example when a registration number is unknown or expired.
In SDEP-NL: part of the SDEP implementation, optionally backed by an external registration system.
A synonym for Short-Term Rental Platform.
A system in which short-term rental addresses are registered and assigned a unique registration number.
In SDEP-NL, there are multiple RSs, from which one is the Registratiesysteem Toeristische Verhuur (RVV). RVV is the original name of the system, still in use, although it does not match the full name (which would abbreviate to RTV).
An area subject to Regulation (EU) 2024/1028.
A furnished private residence that can be rented out for a limited period, rather than a hotel or hostel.
