Why are you interested in joining the Safety Critical Rust Consortium?
I am personally interested in enhancing automotive cybersecurity, functional safety, and SOTIF (Safety of the Intended Functionality). I would like to better understand the adoption of Rust in automotive embedded software development.
Background: I currently serve on Korea's MOLIT Vehicle Safety Review Committee (자동차안전심의위원회, 2023–) and chair the IEEE ITSS Korea Chapter (2025–). I have presented related work at KASA Spring 2023 (coding standards and code generation for software safety, with co-authors) and at the AAAM 68th / KASA Fall 2024 joint meeting in Seoul ("Qualifying Rust Compilers for Safety-Critical Automotive Software: Challenges, Progress, and Future").
I plan to start as an observer and revisit producer status once I am more familiar with the consortium's working groups and where I might contribute.
