SVG Not Rendering in PDF Export (Image Space Reserved But Not Displayed)

Hi everyone,

I'm encountering an issue with SVG images when using the SBB PDF Exporter in Polarion and hoping someone has seen this before or has a fix.

Problem Description:

When exporting a document to PDF that contains a scaled SVG image, the PDF reserves the correct block space for the image, but the image itself doesn't render - just empty space where the image should be.

What I've Tested:

The SVG data appears to be present in the processed HTML

When I download the processed HTML file and render it using standalone WeasyPrint (outside of Polarion), the image renders correctly

This suggests the issue is specific to how the PDF Exporter is processing/rendering the SVG within Polarion

Environment:

Polarion version: 2506
SBB PDF Exporter version: 10.1.2
SVG is being scaled (not displayed at original size)

Questions:

• Has anyone else experienced SVGs not rendering in PDF exports while the space is still reserved?
• Is there a known incompatibility between Polarion's PDF Exporter WeasyPrint version and certain SVG scaling methods?
• Are there specific SVG attributes or CSS properties that cause rendering issues in the embedded WeasyPrint but work in standalone?
• Is there a configuration or workaround to fix this?

Things I've Already Checked:

The SVG file itself is valid (renders in browsers and standalone WeasyPrint)
The HTML output contains the SVG data
The issue seems specific to the PDF Exporter's WeasyPrint instance, not the SVG content

I can not reproduce the issue.
I added SVG into LiveDoc, clicked on resize

changed the dimensions of image, and exported the PDF. SVG image has been correctly exported.

Could you please provide us with more details/steps to reproduce/the SVG image/etc?

I did try to find contributors. Seems to be clearly lined to specific .svg scaling. Hunting for the issue in progress.

(A) Figure size:

• Reset
• set to width
• entered (75%)

(B) Justify (Left, Center, Right)

(C) Fit images and tables to page

Note: Other issues:

• I have landscape pages. Fit images and tables to page doe not fit to the width of the Landscape page, but to the width of a portrait page.
• It would be very useful to be able to allow images to sale, but tables no - or visa versa.

OK. This process reproduces the bug.

1. create .svg figure with caption
2. switch off “Fit images and tables to page”
3. Export - it works
4. Scale the image to 75%
5. Save
6. switch off “Fit images and tables to page”
7. Export - it fails (reserve space, does not render the svg).
8. “Reset”, of “Fit to width”” the image scale.
9. Export - it fails (reserve space, does not render the svg).
10. If you switch back to “Fit images and tables to page” mode -
11. Export - it works.

After this is broken, cannot get it to render with “Fit images and tables to page” off.

the issue has confirmed and fixed in weasyprint-service v67.0.1.
Please update your weasyprint-service to the latest version and try the fix.
