Welcome to DIGIfor1healthSE, which strives to create synergies and increase coordination nationally for sustainable access and utilization of health data. The objectives are excellent research, improved lifestyle, healthcare and social care, precision medicine, strengthened Swedish competitiveness and attractiveness, and to support the implementation of the European Health Data Space (EHDS). DIGIfor1healthSE contributes to the effective use of the collective expertise found within five EU-DIGITAL health data projects in Sweden, as well as the national initiative Genomic Medicine Sweden (GMS) and SciLifeLab. Together, we work to increase synergies and address the challenges necessary for the sustainable access and utilization of health data.

The foundation for DIGIfor1healthSE is a 2023 pilot study (Dnr 2022-03542) supported by Vinnova and led by SciLifeLab. Its purpose was to create synergies between four EU-DIGITAL projects (GDI, EUCAIM, TEF-Health, and HDS). The study identified a significant need for national collaboration between these four projects and Genomic Medicine Sweden (GMS)—which is developing the National Genomics Platform (NGP) as a regional-anchored national initiative—as well as continued participation from SciLifeLab as a national infrastructure and active partner.

This is crucial for enabling equitable and sustainable health in the long term. Since November 2024, the EU-DIGITAL project GoE has also joined the collaboration, as it is already partnering with GDI and GMS to realize the European 1+ Million Genomes (1+MG) initiative.
