Prerequisites

  • I have searched all issues/PRs to ensure it has not already been reported or fixed.

Criteria

  • Non-GUI tool
  • Reasonably well-known and widely used (e.g. if it's a GitHub project, it should have at least 500 stars and/or 150 forks)
  • English interface (or at least English documentation)
  • Latest stable version
  • Full version (i.e. not a trial version)
  • Fairly standard install (e.g. uses a version-specific download URL, no elaborate pre/post install scripts)

Name

bitwarden-cli

Description

The powerful command-line tool (CLI) to write and execute scripts on your Bitwarden vault.

Homepage

Download Link(s)

Updates an Existing Manifest

Starting with cli-v2024.6.1 (the first version to offer a separate Open Source Software variant), Bitwarden bifurcated their CLI into a proprietary variant licensed under the Bitwarden License Agreement and an OSS variant licensed under GPLv3.0.

The proprietary variant does not have a SPDX Identifier as required by the contributing guidelines and expressly prohibits use or distribution for production purposes under term 2.1.

Additionally, a review of their licensing indicates that it is not offered under the "or latter" variant of GPL-3.0, but rather the "only" variant.
